Dear Friends,

Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.

Please arrange to have this letter shared in your parish on Sunday, December 27, 2020.

It is a pleasure to announce that I have appointed the Reverend Adam Brown to be the Assistant Curate in the Area Parish of the St. Lawrence, effective February 15, 2021. Your Incumbent, Archdeacon Peter Crosby, and your wardens have unanimously endorsed the appointment of Adam, and I am grateful to them for their generous cooperation.

Adam was ordained a deacon in the Diocese of Ottawa in 2019, and was ordained a priest on December 14th of this year. He has served in curacies in the parishes of All Saints Westboro and Ascension Ottawa Centre. In the summer of 2019 Adam served in Stormont Deanery as an intern in the Area Parish of Prescott-North Glengarry.

Adam holds a Master of Divinity degree from Trinity College in Toronto, where he was Student Head of Divinity for two terms. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Sociology from Trent University in Peterborough, where he served as the president of the University Music Society. Adam is a fellow of the Guild of Church Musicians and Singers, and he brings to your parish a range of talent and experience in music, multimedia, governance, and pastoral leadership.

Adam is an outgoing, intelligent, and very likeable priest, who looks forward to living and serving with you, and I know you will warmly welcome him into the life and ministry of your parish.

With kindest blessings as this Christmas season brightens your hearts.

Yours in Christ,

The Rt. Rev. Shane A.D. Parker
Bishop of Ottawa
