Notes from a Sojourn

A Crowded Ark
Today's reflection is for all ages...especially kids!
Have you ever heard the story of Noah's Ark? Noah was a person who loved God. And of course, God loved him. A really big flood was coming so God warned Noah and his family. God told Noah to build a big boat (ark) for himself, his family, and....animals!
Even though it was so dangerous outside the boat, the people and animals were kept safe inside. The Bible says they were in the boat for 40 days! I can't even imagine how crowded, noisy, and stinky it would have been on that thing! They probably didn't know how long it would last either!
Finally though, the flood ended. The people and the animals were let out of the ark. God gave the rainbow as a promise of love and protection.
These days, everyone is staying home to help keep each other safe from getting sick. We do not know how long this will last. And we may be getting a little bored, grumpy, or even scared. When we are cooped up like this, we may feel a bit like Noah's family and the animals. But like the characters of Noah's Ark, we also know that God loves us and cares for us. That will always be true... No matter what!
